Raw rice of this variety is widely consumed. This aromatic variety is superior to Basmati in every respect except grain length. It can be used as a special table rice and for making Pulav, Biryani, Ghee Rice, Variety Rice, Pongal, Kanji, Idli, Dosa and Payasam.
It is cultivated during Samba (July 15 to January 14)
